Get Your Eyebrows Tinted!
Keep your eyebrows in place even in the pouring rain. In Portland, we're no strangers to having to juggle staying dry with staying stylish - which is why we are fans of getting our eyelashes and eyebrows tinted! Not only do tinted brows and eyelashes give your face more definition, the service also reduces the amount of time it takes to get ready in the morning.
Our brow tint is a semi-permanent skin-safe vegetable dye that is mixed with a developer. Brow and lash tinting are a quick and inexpensive way to keep the brows and lashes looking fuller and bolder.
How long does a brow tint last?
A brow tint lasts 4-6 weeks. Brow tinting gives the brows a fuller look and is ideal for someone who likes their brow shape and wants to enhance the color and shape or someone with light colored or sparse brow hair. It is also a great option for someone who doesn’t want to commit to other brow enhancing treatments, such as micro-blading.

Brow tinting can be done with a brow wax so that a brow shape-up is included! At Bellini’s we have a range of shades and will even mix a couple of shades, if necessary, to best suit your face, typically we match the dye to your hair color.
If you're looking for something more permanent, we also carry eyelash and eyebrow conditioners which increases hair growth speed. RevitaLash focuses on improving hair flexibility, which leads to an increase in shine and decrease in breakage. The RevitaLash eyelash conditioner uses a breakthrough blend of vitamins and nutrients that fortifies, hydrates, and beautifies lashes, along with giving them a natural curl and lift. A side effect of the RevitaBrow conditioner is that it also darkens the eyebrow hair. With continual use, you may notice you only need to schedule an eyebrow wax!
What is an appointment like to get eyebrow tinting or eyelash tinting done?
An appointment of brow tinting would take about 15 minutes. If you are getting them shaped up as well, it would be a 30-minute appointment. Lash tinting uses the same semi-permanent vegetable dye and takes a bit longer to set, so it would be a 30-minute appointment. Since lash tinting is intended to darken and enhance lashes, and it is often used in place of having to use mascara, it needs to sit on the hairs a bit longer. For lash tinting we would use either a deep black, blue black or a dark brown, depending on your hair and eye color (or preference). We have a blog article about our waxing services here.
Post-Tinting Care
After your service, you can continue on with your day as normal! You don't have to worry about getting your eyebrows and/or eyelashes wet, putting product on them, sweating, or exfoliating after your appointment. Once the dye has set, it cannot be completely removed with water.
I've heard about tinting my eyelashes and brows myself, using henna dye at home.
Using henna for brow tint is a different process and yields a different outcome than the semi-permanent dye that we use. Henna “stains” the skin, in addition to dying the brow hairs and gives brows a more “filled in” look than the semi-permanent dye. Henna lasts a bit longer than semi-permanent dye, 6-8 weeks, because it penetrates the hair follicle. At Bellini's, we only use skin-safe vegetable dye in order to control shades and reduce any possible reactions.
Can I tint my eyelashes and eyebrows myself with hair dye?
The dye used for tinting is not the same hair dye that you can buy at the drugstore or beauty store. Brow and lash tint is specifically formulated to be safe for the skin, and we do not suggest trying to tint or dye your own brows and lashes at home.
