Ocean appreciation every day

Posted by Sonia Bellini on

World Oceans Day is a day to be ocean-minded and support sustainability. We love to carry products that improve the health of our beautiful communities, oceans, and habitats by focusing on responsible ingredient sourcing and sustainable packaging as much as possible.

The beauty brands that we carry are working on becoming more sustainable. For example, Coola is doing the following to protect our beautiful oceans:

  • Creating 70%+ organic products
  • Developing reef-friendly sunscreen (aka Oxybenzone and Octinoxate-free formulas) as well as mineral sunscreens that use only Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide
  • Planting coral to help rebuild and strengthen threatened reefs
  • Having 75%+ of their packaging be fully recyclable (their goal is to have 100% recyclable by 2023)
  • Reducing plastic usage and our carbon footprint by having all of their tubes made from sustainably sourced sugar-cane resin, which is 100% recyclable
You can also do your part by being more intentional in your daily life. Make sustainability a priority by:
  • Choosing a reef-friendly sunscreen
  • Reducing, reusing, and recycling
  • Not littering
  • Volunteering to clean up after others
  • Reduce water usage
  • Shop responsibly
  • Use plastic-free alternatives
  • Reduce your carbon footprint
  • Reduce pollutants
