A Facial as Unique as You Are

What does it mean to live life to the fullest? We search for thrills, stories, and people to love; we live for home cooked meals and finding our individual style. Living life to the fullest means being present and engaged with your day, wherever it might go. Some things happen to our skin in the process, like windburn and rashes, excessive oil, or sunburn, so it’s important to care for your skin if you never want to press pause on having fun.

Our lives are precious, and we also owe it to ourselves to take optimal care of our bodies. Our body is what binds us to our mind and spirit. At Bellini’s, we focus on your global health (skin, diet, lifestyle, season, hormones, age, etc.) in order to best nourish your skin.

At Bellini’s, we get your skin ready for whatever you choose to do with life. For those over 65 years old, there are specific concerns you may be dealing with, such as:

  • Thin skin and decreasing hormones
  • Muscle tautness decreasing
  • Sun damage continues to appear
  • Internal cell communications decrease

Your Skin Doesn’t Have to Look Dull

In general, your cells begin to slow down and diminish efficiency as you grow up. This is the same for your skin cells, which now are slowing down their routine. Hormones help keep our skin plump (testosterone helps with skin density), and as we continue to age these hormones naturally begin to decrease. You may also notice that your skin is thinner, which leaves your skin looking sullen. There are a variety of products designed to stimulate your skin’s natural ability to produce ingredients such as collagen and hyaluronic acid. We pride ourselves in getting the right products on your skin at the right time, so you don’t have to worry about sorting through endless reviews and products hoping to get the right one.

The facial massages we provide at Bellini’s are specifically designed to stimulate ATP in the muscles, which is the energy your muscles use. Much like with your cells, providing your muscles with the energy it needs will dramatically help the overall integrity of your body.

It is important to replenish your skin with ingredients it no longer can produce efficiently. Combining proper products with regular facials will keep your skin at its peak performance, regardless of extrinsic factors.

Trust the Experts

You might have noticed your skin feeling a bit dull, or sluggish. This is likely because your skin is slower to execute its standard functions, such as cell turnover and collagen production. Having a decreased cell turnover cycle results in your skincare products not working as effectively, because there is a layer of dead skin cells blocking product absorption. Because your skin cells are staying around longer than usual, you will need to take additional care of them. This means you may need to include microdermabrasion into some of your facials in order to clear up the surface of your skin. Our facials include treatments designed to target glycation, dull skin, replenishing hydration, stimulating muscle energy, and much more.

In addition to cell turnover slowing down, the communication between DNA cells is also weakening. DNA chromosomes have end caps called telomeres, and these telomeres have the potential to decay over time.

The NIH describes a telomere as an endcap to each DNA chromosome and protects the ends of chromosomes from becoming “frayed or tangled.” With each cell divide, the telomeres become shorter, until eventually the cell can no longer divide and dies. This may sound tragic, but rest assured that with proper skincare you can extend the life of your telomeres.

Some steps you can take to prevent telomere decay are:

  • Get plenty of sleep each night
  • Exercise (this will also help keep your skin thick!)
  • Quit smoking if applicable (we believe in you!)
  • Use Vitamin C to protect telomeres

In addition, the process of cell turnover also reveals hidden sun damage from the past. Because the cells are slow to turn over, this makes any sun damage seem to stick around for longer than ever. If you are in this age range, it is likely that you did not consistently wear sunscreen growing up. This means that there is a high probability that sun damage will continue to creep to the surface. At Bellini’s, we love to lift sun damage and pigmentation through chemical peels. Chemical peels help lighten dark spots and even out your skin tone, and we often see dramatic results after a few rounds.

Overall, your skin cells have mostly stopped producing collagen and other skin-plumping ingredients naturally, and have dramatically slowed down turnover rates. It is important to stimulate your skin and remind it to continue carrying out its procedures through proper skincare and regular facials. Our expert team at Bellini's is ready to assist you with seasonal and lifestyle changes at any time.

So get out there and live.
